Stucco installation and repair in San Diego

Hairline cracks, failed patches, and walls that need a new section. We repair stucco and install it where the scope calls for it.

How does stucco installation and repair work in San Diego?

Pacific Coast Contracting repairs and installs stucco on San Diego County homes. That includes crack repair, patching damaged sections, and new stucco where the agreed scope calls for a new coat or a new area. Texture is matched as close as the existing wall allows.

What is included

  • Crack repair
  • Patching damaged sections
  • Texture match as close as the wall allows
  • New stucco on areas written into the scope
  • A plan for color so a patch does not flash in the sun
  • A look for soft spots and stains before we coat over them

What changes the estimate

  • Length and width of the cracks
  • Whether the patch is a spot or a whole wall
  • Texture and whether a larger color coat is needed
  • Access and how much landscaping is in the way

Not every crack is the same

A hairline and a crack you can fit a coin in are different jobs. We tell you which one you have before we price a patch.

Color coat has limits

Old, faded color does not always hide a small patch. Sometimes the honest fix is to recoat a larger area. We say that up front.

Movement stays visible

We do not claim to fix a wall that is shifting. If the crack looks structural, we stop and tell you to get an engineer before anyone hides it.

From this kind of job

Before and after

Before: cracked and missing stucco on the underside of an overhang above a garage door
After: repaired stucco overhang above garage doors on a beige building, with ladders still on site
BeforeAfter

Stucco overhang

Same garage overhang. Cracked stucco with a missing chunk is first. The second frame is that overhang after the stucco was repaired and refinished.

How it goes

  1. 01

    Show us the wall

A wide photo and a close photo are enough to start. We confirm the scope on site before work.

  2. 02

    Agree on the patch size

You will know if we are filling a crack, replacing a section, or recoating a larger area.

  3. 03

    Repair, texture, cure

Stucco has to cure. We schedule paint after the repair is ready, not the same hour we trowel it.

Questions on stucco

Can you make a stucco patch invisible?

We match the texture as close as the wall allows. Faded color coat can still show a small patch. If a larger area should be coated, that is part of the estimate.

Do you install new stucco?

Yes, when new stucco is the agreed scope for that wall or section. We do not treat a crack repair and a full re-stucco as the same job.

Should cracked stucco just be painted?

Hairline checks sometimes take paint. Open cracks should be repaired first or the paint will telegraph them. We will tell you which case you are in.
