Siding
Siding painting and protection in San Diego
We prep and coat wood and fiber-cement siding so the boards stay sealed. This is painting and protection, not a siding-replacement crew.

How does siding painting and protection work in San Diego?
Pacific Coast Contracting paints and protects wood and fiber-cement siding in San Diego County. The work is wash, scrape, caulk, prime, and coat. Boards that are soft, split, or rotten get called out before we paint over them.
What is included
- Wash, scrape, and sand
- Replace failed caulk at joints and trim
- Prime bare spots
- Paint wood and fiber-cement siding
- Fascia and trim on the same estimate when you want them
- A written note on boards that should not be coated
What changes the estimate
- How much siding, and how many stories
- Peeling, bare wood, and failed caulk
- Fiber cement versus wood
- Boards that need a carpenter before paint
We will not paint over rot
A coat of paint on a soft board is not protection. If boards need to be replaced, we say that before the paint price is locked.
Replacement is a different job
New siding installation is not this service. We coat siding that is sound, and we tell you when it is not.
Caulk fails first
Open joints at trim and butt joints let water behind the paint. Those get cut out and recaulked before the finish coat.
From this kind of job
How it goes
01
Photo the worst elevation
South and west walls usually tell the story. Close-ups of peeled paint and soft ends help.
02
Mark what can be coated
Sound boards get a paint scope. Bad boards get called out on their own, not hidden in the gallon count.
03
Caulk, prime, paint
Joints get sealed, bare spots get primed, then we coat. That is the protection.
Questions on siding
Do you install new siding?
No. This service is painting and protection for siding that can take a coat. If boards are soft or split, we tell you before we paint them.
Do you paint fiber-cement siding?
Yes, when it is already the siding on the house. We prep and coat it. Factory-finish rules vary by product, so we confirm what is on the wall.
Can siding paint and stucco paint be one visit?
Often, yes, when both are on the same house. They are still separate lines on the estimate because the prep is different.
