Drywall
Drywall repair and installation in San Diego
Holes, soft ceilings, and new hangs. We tape, mud, and texture so the paint has a straight surface.

How does drywall work in San Diego?
Pacific Coast Contracting hangs and patches drywall in San Diego County homes. Work includes holes, water-damaged ceilings, new board, tape, mud, sanding, and texture match when the rest of the room has texture.
What is included
- Hang new drywall
- Patch holes and soft spots
- Tape, mud, and sand
- Texture match when the room already has texture
- Ceiling repairs, including areas that have been opened
- Paint, when it is on the same estimate
What changes the estimate
- Size of the patch or the new hang
- Ceiling work versus wall work
- Texture type
- Whether paint is included after the mud dries
Close it only after the leak is handled
If a ceiling was opened because of water, the leak has to be fixed before we close the board. We do not bury an active drip.
Texture has limits
Heavy hand texture and old sprayed texture are hard to copy perfectly. On a tricky match we do a sample spot before we finish the whole area.
Paint needs a dry wall
Mud has to dry. We do not roll paint onto a patch that is still cool and damp.
From this kind of job
Before and after

Laundry bulkhead
Same drywall above the washing machine. The open framing is first. The second frame is that bulkhead after it was patched, textured, and painted.
How it goes
01
Send a photo of the damage
A hole, a stain, or an open ceiling. Tell us if water is still showing up.
02
Set the scope
Patch, replace a sheet, or hang a room. Texture and paint are separate lines if they are separate work.
03
Hang, finish, then paint
Board goes up, joints get taped and sanded, texture goes on if the room needs it, then paint when it is dry.
Questions on drywall
Can you match knockdown or orange peel?
Often, yes. We sample it when the existing texture is heavy or inconsistent. We will tell you if a perfect match is unlikely.
Do you repair ceilings that are already open?
Yes. We hang new board once the opening is ready and any leak is handled, then tape and finish it.
Will you paint the patch?
Yes, when paint is on the estimate. A spot repair usually needs paint or the patch will show, even when the mud is smooth.
